Bird's The Word: Police Rescue Injured Hawk In New City Clarkstown Police came to the aid Wednesday of an injured hawk instead of a local resident in need after receiving a call regarding a bird in distress. The hawk. who was sitting on Phillips Hill Road in New City, was rescued by Officer Robert McDermott and animal control Officer Patricia Coleman and taken to the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital.
