The  21-year-old man has been indicted on a manslaughter charge after allegedly fatally stabbing another motorist on the Taconic State Parkway during a bout of road rage.

Christian Walczyk of Pleasant Valley in Dutchess County is scheduled to be arraigned in Westchester County Court later this week after being indicted on charges that include felony first-degree manslaughter, first-degree criminal impersonation a criminal possession of a weapon.

New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a stretch of the Taconic in Mount Pleasant at approximately 10:30 p.m. on May 27 when there were reports of a stabbing.

According to police, Walczyk got into an argument with 28-year-old Hartsdale resident Daniel Siino on the road and stabbed him in the chest when the incident turned physical. Siino was able to make his way back to his vehicle, while his passenger called 911 and began driving to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Police said that troopers and paramedics were able to track down the vehicle and began treatment on Siino’s stab wound, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the hospital.

Walczyk fled the scene and also called 911. Troopers found him nearby and he was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned in Mount Pleasant Town Court and has been held at the Westchester County Jail since being arrested.
