GOSHEN, N.Y. – The three-car pile up that closed portions of Route 17 in Goshen on Wednesday night was caused by a driver who was charged with DWI, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Kouakou Konan, 53, of Middletown, reportedly lost control of his vehicle while traveling westbound, crossed the median, hit one car on the eastbound side before becoming airborne, then struck another, the Record reported.

Konan was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center for his injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were treated at the scene, the Record said.
