Guilty: Middletown's Heil Convicted Of Killing Infant Son

GOSHEN, N.Y. - Michael Heil was convicted Thursday of murder and manslaughter charges in the death of his 2-month-old son last year, an Orange County jury determined Thursday, according to the Times Herald Record.

Heil, 27, was convicted after a 10 day trial. During the trial, medical experts testified that someone violently shook, slammed or threw Zachary Heil. Michael Heil was alone with the infant when the symptoms began, according to the Times Herald Record.

Prosecutors also presented text messages and Facebook posts showing Heil's growing frustration with his crying son before he reported the baby had stopped breathing.
