As part of the STOP-DWI crackdown, New York State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated on Wednesday night and Thursday morning as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area.

Among those charged was Haverstraw resident Kristopher Campos, 32, who was stopped by state police troopers on Thursday morning on Route 9W in Clarkstown for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that Campos was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Campos was released to a sober third-party and is due in court later this year to answer the charge.
