The victim was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit at Hackensack University Mecidal Center after being struck outside a QuickChek on the highway just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, responders said.

He remained in critical condition on Saturday with injuries that include a shattered hip, broken collarbone and broken ribs, a source with direct knowledge of the incident said.

Lodi police requested "any and all assistance" in finding the vehicle -- and, hopefully, the driver.
