HARRIMAN, N.Y. -- A series of brush fires along NJ Transit tracks in New Jersey temporarily halted train service on the line into Orange County.
The fires on the Main and Bergen Line tracks in Glen Rock apparently were ignited by a defective part on a train that made it as far as Harriman.
No other fires were reported in any other towns.
There was some property damage -- mostly involving fences and light poles.
Boyd A. Loving contributed to this report.
