Wappingers Falls Black Lab Missing After Surgery WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. – The owner of Dozer, a black lab from Wappingers Falls, is looking for him after the dog escaped from his leash after surgery at the VCA Animal Hospital. He was being walked when he slipped his leash at the hospital, which is at 1285 Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, and ran into the woods behind the animal hospital still under anesthesia. Dows Lane Third-Graders Conduct Experiments During 'Mad Month' IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Third-graders at Dows Lane Elementary School in Irvington learned about a handful of scientific concepts as part of an interactive learning unit the school called the 'Mad Month of Science throughout March. The unit was funded through the Irvington Education Foundation and is a partnership with the New York Hall of Science. For an hour each week, students visited a pop-up lab at the school that offered experiments that explained the concepts of light, electricity, human eyes and microbiology.

The event raised around $4,000 for the Hearts for Heroes charity, which trains therapeutic dogs and horses to work with returning veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
