Mary Dorothea (North) Placella, 71, Of Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. – Mary Dorothea (nee North) Placella, of Danbury, died on April 13 at Danbury Hospital. She was 71.
Placella was born in Norwalk on May 21, 1944 to Jacob A. North and Edna Ells, graduating from Bethel High School and working for Grolier in Danbury.
She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Brookfield for more than 35 years.
Placella was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Rocco, four children, David, Susanne Quattro and her husband Peter, James and his wife Danelle, Cathleen Jackson and her husband Michael; six grandchildren, …

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. – O. Gerard "Jerry" Gjertsen of Tuckahoe died Saturday, April 9. He was 83.
Gjertsen was predeceased by his wife, Carol Ann.
He is survived by four children, Gerard and his wife Anjanette, Gary and his wife Ann, Krista Sweeney and her husband Paul, and Karen; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Village Lutheran Church in Bronxville.

Marilyn Lieberman, 80, Of Rye
RYE, N.Y. – Marilyn Chodosh Lieberman of Rye and formerly of New Rochelle died Sunday, April 10. She was 80.
Lieberman was born on Oct. 3, 1935, in New York to Arthur and Sylvia Birnbaum Chodosh. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle and Hunter College School of Social Work.
She worked for many years at the Clear View School in Scarborough.
Lieberman was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Howard. She is survived by her children, Lawrence and his wife Rita of Dobbs Ferry, and Alan and his wife Valerie of Cranford, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Catherine Borowick, 85, Of Trumbull
TRUMBULL, Conn. – Catherine "Kay" Y. Borowick, of Trumbull and formerly of Bridgeport, died Friday, April 8. She was 85.
Borowick was born in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., to Stephen and Anna Mormok Malik, retiring from Remington Shaver.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Alexander; and sister Margaret Marra.
Borowick is survived by niece Patricia Bargo and husband Eddie of Shelton; and niece and nephew Camille and Eddie II.
