MONROE, N.Y. – A Monroe family still grieving from the loss of their 25-year-old son is now facing a lawsuit from the church that owns the cemetery he is buried in, according to the Times Herald-Record.
Boris and Praskovya “Polina” Vays say the cemetery approved the plans for their son's grave monument in May 2015. Board members from the cemetery, however, sent notice in October that the headstone fails to meet the aesthetic regulations, the Record said.
The Church's legal team says they have attempted to accommodate the Vays family, but are now left with no other recourse but to seek a solution in court, the Record reported.
