The vehicle crossed the median and hit a northbound 2007 Honda Accord, driven by a 63-year-old Beacon man, Faber said.

The Maxima driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the Honda and his passenger, a 74-year-old Beacon woman, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital, he added.

The roadway was partially shut down to traffic for more than three hours during the crash investigation.
