A Hudson Valley man has been charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to blow up a building. Ulster County resident Marc Whittaker, age 47, of Kingston, was charged on Monday, March 11. According to Sgt. Collin Reynolds of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, officials notified deputies assigned to the Ulster County Department of Social Services that Whittaker had threatened to blow up the building during a telephone call. A 57-year-old man was found dead on a mountain trail in the region after being reported missing by his wife. The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, in Narrowsburg on the Tusten Mountain Trail. A 35-year-old man has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing $33,000 in cell phones. Tairon Pressley, of the Bronx, was arrested after an investigation into a highly organized retail theft of cellular phones, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police. He is accused of using stolen account information from cellular customers to steal Apple and Samsung smartphones from the Middletown Walmart on Route 211 on several dates in February and March, Nevel said. A student at a Hudson Valley elementary school is recovering after allegedly being hit over the head with a chair by another student. The incident occurred in Orange County around 2:20 p.m., Friday, March 15 at Meadow Hill School in the town of Newburgh. According to Lt. A contractor from the region was charged with larceny for allegedly scamming a couple out of thousands for a roofing job he never performed. Sullivan County resident David Gizinski, age 37, of Liberty and the owner of Gizinski Construction, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 16 for the incident in November 2023. Dutchess County resident William Pascal, age 49, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Thursday, March 7 in Ulster County in Lloyd. New York State Police are asking for information regarding a Hudson Valley man who has been charged with alleged sexual abuse following an investigation. Rockland County resident Elpidio Aguilar-Flores, age 51, of West Haverstraw, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 29. Aguilar-Flores was remanded to the Rockland County Jail in place of a $150,000 cash bail of $400,000 secured bond.
