Trenton Man Killed After SUV Strikes Tree, Catches Fire On I-295 In Burlington County, Njsp Say
A Trenton man was killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 295 early Sunday, June 22, in Burlington County, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded around 5:58 a.m. to the northbound side of the highway near milepost 45.8 in Westampton Township, Sgt. Charles Marchan said.
A preliminary investigation found that Timothy Long, 50, was driving a Honda SUV when he lost directional control, went off the road, struck a traffic sign and a tree, and the vehicle caught fire, Marchan said.
Long died as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.

New details have been released in the fatal wrong-way crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 87 in Rockland County early Saturday, June 21.
Brian P. Tortora, 33, of New York, was driving a 2024 Subaru WRX northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck two tractor-trailers in Clarkstown just after 3 a.m. near mile marker 18.9, just west of Exit 12, according to New York State Police.
Tortora’s Subaru first collided with a 2017 Volvo truck towing a trailer, driven by a 52-year-old man, police said.

A 35-year-old woman from Wisconsin was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 287 in Somerset County late Saturday, June 21, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded around 10:19 p.m. to the northbound lanes near milepost 28.4 in Bernards Township, Sgt. Charles Marchan said.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Volkswagen passenger car were both traveling north when, near milepost 28.4, the Harley-Davidson impacted the Volkswagen, Marchan said.
As a result of the collision, the vehicles ran off the road to the right, Marchan said.

A Brooklyn man has been arrested for raping a 17-year-old girl on Long Island, Nassau County Police said.
Manuel Lopez Gil, 30, was arrested Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Brooklyn with help from the NYPD and Nassau County Second Squad detectives, police said.
The assault occurred in Hempstead at 11:55 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, according to the Special Victims Squad.

A 35-year-old Rockland County man was arrested for felony DWI after a wild crash wrecked multiple parked vehicles and left his car flipped in the road, police said.
The crash happened earlier this week on South Route 9W near house number 922 in Congers, police said in a release issued Saturday, June 21.
