Pedestrians Bang On Car, Assault Driver Through Window In Arlington: Cops
Two pedestrians have been arrested for assaulting a driver in Arlington this week, authorities said. Leonardo Guardado Navarro, 29, and Adonis Johnson, 20, were on foot when they became involved in an argument with a driver on the 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, county police said. Navarro and Johnson began banging on the victim’s vehicle, causing property damage, and assaulted him through the open driver’s side window, police said. Strong-Arm Robber Who Followed Victim Into 7-Eleven Arrested In Woodbridge: Police
A 54-year-old man was arrested after police in Prince William County say he followed his 35-year-old victim into a 7-Eleven and robbed him. Michael Everette Harris, of Woodbridge, has been charged with robbery and held on $3,000 secured bond following the mid-day incident on Jan. 25 at the Cape Cod Road convenience store, county police said. No injuries were reported, and no weapons were seen. No encounter occurred with employees or the business itself, police said. "While checking the area, the accused was located and detained without incident," police said.

Brooke Point High School Lacrosse Player Jake Sinclair Dies, 17
Jacob "Jake" Sinclair died on Jan. 16, 2024, at his home in Fredericksburg, according to his obituary on the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service website. Jake's obituary says he was a lacrosse player at Brooke Point High School, and remembers him as a "kind soul with a caring heart," who "always made people laugh." He was 17 years old. Officials in Fairfax County are saying they're not the ones to blame for the release of a Honduran national after U.S. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement (ICE) put out a release saying that they are. The story dates back to January 2020, when the Honduran national was arrested by US Border Patrol as an unaccompanied juvenile in Texas, ICE said. 2-Year-Old Falls From Third-Floor Window In Philadelphia: Police
A 2-year-old boy fell from a window in Philadelphia Thursday, Jan. 25, police said. The boy fell from the third floor window at a building on the 800 block of North 20th Street around 5:25 p.m., city police said. The child and mom were rushed to Pennsylvania Hospital, where the boy was listed in stable condition. The scene is currently being held for further investigation.

Abandoned Baby Update: Suspect Vehicle ID'd By Police In Alexandria
Authorities in Alexandria have launched an investigation into the case of an abandoned child, they said. A girl between 1 and 2 years old was left outside of 8 South Van Dorn St., by an unknown man around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, a spokesperson for the Alexandria Sheriff's Office said. Responding officers found the girl dressed in warm clothing, and in apparent good health. Nobody in the area reported knowing the child or who she may belong to, officials said. Nineteen businesses who owe a total of $1.1 million have been barred from public contracting until they pay back their dues, the New Jersey Department of Labor said. R.A. Florio Building Contractors Inc., of Toms River, for example, has been ordered to pay $39,555.57 to the state, according to the department of labor and workforce development. A 39-year-old Prince William County mother who works with special needs children died two days after the rollover crash with her son in the vehicle, according to police and social media reports. Demeteria Yvette Lee — who works at the Kilby Elementary school — was heading east on Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge in a 2013 Nissan Juke when she lost control and left the roadway around 8:25 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, Prince William County police said.
