Feliz Navi-Dog! Missing Child Tracked Down By VA Sheriff's Brand New K-9 Officer On Christmas
Maxa hasn't been on the force for long, but her work is already paying off. The 1.5-year-old Shorthaired Pointer who joined the ranks of the Amherst County Sheriff in October was hailed a hero on Christmas after tracking down a missing child. K-9 Maxa and Sgt. Shores responded to a home in Madison Heights for a missing child, after family members had checked he surrounding area with no success. Once on scene, K-9 Maxa was able to find and track the scent of the juvenile and led deputies to a nearby wooded area where Maxa found the missing child unharmed. Good girl!

Robber Beats Teen In Christmas Eve Jacket Sale: Prince William Police
A grown man has been charged with assaulting a teenager during Christmas Eve jacket sale in Virginia, police said. Robert Cole Thompson and the 17-year-old were conducting a transaction over the jacket on the 13900 block of Promenade Commons Street in Gainesville around 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, when Thompson forcibly grabbed the jacket from the teen, Prince William County police said. 'Fully Engulfed:' Christmas Eve Fire Destroys South Jersey Home
A Christmas Eve fire ravaged an Atlantic County home. The Great Creek Road home was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived to the scene at 12 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 24, Galloway Township police said. All of the residents as well as pets had safely evacuated as numerous fire departments arrived, police said. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours on Great Creek Road between Sylvan Ave and Pitney Road. Delays were reported on I-295 Wednesday morning, Dec. 27 due to a crash in Mount Laurel. It happened around 10:30 a.m. on the southbound side when an Audi lost control, ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail and then re-entered the highway near milepost 39.9, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The car collided with a Ford SUV which then struck a Chevy SUV on impact, the trooper said. No injuries were reported. Man Directing Vehicle Fatally Run Over At Baltimore Gas Station
A 58-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle he was directing early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27 in Baltimore, police said. The man was directing the vehicle to back up closer to the pumps in the gas station lot near The Alameda around 4:20 a.m., when he was struck by the 31-year-old driver, police said. The Exxon station is located at Walters Avenue and The Alameda, where police say the crash occurred. The 31-year-old driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. Crash Team detectives are investigating this incident.

Ocean County Horse Euthanized After Mosquito-Borne Illness
An Ocean County horse was euthanized after a bout with a mosquito-borne illness, officials said. The unvaccinated 28-year-old Grade breed mare experienced depression, front and back ataxia, disorientation, and falling due to Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), the state's department of agriculture said. This is the third case of EEE this year in New Jersey, the others in Gloucester and Salem counties in September and October, the department said. As if post-holiday traffic wasn't bad enough. The Roosevelt Expressway southbound ramp to westbound I-76 and City Avenue in Philadelphia is closed and detoured due to damage suffered in a crash Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 26, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said. The area will remain closed until PennDOT bridge engineers and its contractor can make the necessary repairs to safely reopen the ramp, PennDOT said.
