Dive Teams Recover Body From Hackensack River
A man's body was recovered from the Hackensack River in Hudson County this weekend, authorities said. Dive teams and fire departments from across North Jersey responded to the Hackensack River along the eastern spur of the New Jersey Turnpike around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The male was found and pronounced dead just after 5:30 p.m. He has not yet been identified, and the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit has been notified to assist with the identification. Two police officers and an ex-con were shot overnight in Philadelphia, 6abc reports citing city police. The 40-year-old suspect fired at four officers following a pursuit that began at Cottman Avenue and the Roosevelt Boulevard, and ended in a crash at Frankford Avenue and Welsh Road just after 2 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 10, Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford said at a press conference. Police ID 2 Found Dead In Atlantic County
Authorities have identified the bodies of two people found dead at a home in Atlantic County this weekend. Thai Tran, 28, and Viet Tran, 53, were found unresponsive in a home at 2909 Fire Road in Egg Harbor around 8:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. Both were residents of the home and were pronounced dead by a nurse practitioner on scene. The South Regional Medical Examiner’s Office took possession of both individuals. A porch pirate who rammed a South Jersey police officer with her vehicle while fleeing from him is being sought on multiple charges, officials say. Police spotted Ebony E. A 46-year-old man is accused killing his mom in Cape May County, authorities said. Jeffrey Surgent called the Ocean City Police Department saying he suffers from mental illness and he just killed his mom just before 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said. Police ID Body Found In Creek At East Orange Park
A 68-year-old man was found dead at a park in East Orange on Thursday, Dec. 7, authorities said. Frank Vergilio's body was found in a creek at Watsessing Park around 5:40 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office said.
