NJ Town Employee Pocketed $10K In Utility Payments: Prosecutor
A Tuckerton Borough utility collector has been arrested on accusations she stole $10,000 from the municipality. Jennifer Docherty, 46, of West Creek, failed pocketed proceeds from the tax, water, and sewer payments for the borough between June 2018 and June 2023, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Docherty surrendered to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in the presence of her attorney on Monday, Nov. 21. Virginia parents are facing charges after their 2-year-old was found with fentanyl in his system, authorities announced. Responding deputies were told that the toddler was choking on a hash brown when they were called to a home on Thomas Jefferson Place just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. But Deputy Waheed identified signs consistent with someone who would be overdosing, and had the toddler taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Decatur said. A 66-year-old man died after being struck by a car in Bound Brook Monday, Nov. 20, police said. The Plainfield man was in cardiac arrest when responders arrived at the West Union Avenue crash scene in front of Burger King, around 6:10 p.m., Bound Brook Police Chief Richard S. Colombaroni said. Officers and paramedics initiated life-saving measures and the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. : AirTag Leads Police To Thief In Stafford, Sheriff Says
A tractor trailer driver who had an AirTag on one of his vehicle's stolen mirrors helped lead police right to the culprit, authorities in Stafford County say. Carlos Flores Hernandez, 27, was charged with grand larceny and tampering with a vehicle after police found him with 206 stolen truck mirrors, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy has been in Bucks County taking bites out of pies this week. The latest stop on this leg of the One Bite tour is Russo's in New Hope.
