Guns Found In 2 VA Middle Schoolers' Belongings: Cops Two Virginia middle schoolers are expected to be charged after officials found an unloaded flare gun and a BB gun in their belongings. Acting on a tip that a student was possibly carrying a weapon at Smart's Mill Middle School in Leesburg Tuesday morning, Nov. 14, Loudoun County Public School officials conducted a search, local police said. Firearm Missing, Alexandria Suspect Captured In Failed Armed Robbery: PD The attempted robbery of juveniles in Fairfax County didn't reap any rewards for an Alexandria man, but it did for the police, who say they got their suspect. Zelalem Zewde, 21, approached two juveniles near the Gum Springs Community Center around 5:35 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, county police said. Zewde pulled out a firearm and demanded all of their valuables, but being that they didn't have any, nothing was taken, police said. The suspect ran toward Fordson Road and police saturated the area. Candles Sparked House Fire That Burned Residents, Killed Pet Cat In VA: Officials Candles have been identified as the cause of a Loudoun County house fire that left three residents displaced, killed a cat, and injured a dog, officials said. Plumes of smoke and flames shot out of the North Fillmore Avenue home in Sterling when firefighters arrived around 2 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, fire officials said. Juvenile Leads 100 MPH Pursuit-Crash During Joyride In Family's Car: Stafford Sheriff A juvenile was jailed after leading a high-speed police pursuit then crashing during a joyride in a family member's vehicle, authorities in Stafford said. Bicyclist, 27, Fatally Struck By Car In Camden County A 27-year-old pedalcyclist was struck and killed by a car Monday, Nov. 13, in Camden County. Nicholas Krier was heading north on S. Franklin Avenue approaching Route 30, and was struck by a 47-year-old woman operating a Subaru Outback while trying to cross over White Horse Pike, just before 5 a.m. in Berlin, local police said. Erratic Motorcyclist Wanted For Fleeing NJ Turnpike Traffic Stop: State Police Authorities are seeking an erratic motorcyclist who they say fled a a traffic stop on the New Jersey Turnpike last month.
