Another New York City marathon is under way, and Philadelphia native Sheinelle Jones is among the nearly 50,000 runners — 16 of whom are celebs. The "TODAY" show host and mom of three who hails from Philadelphia turned 45 this year, and signed up to run the 26.2-mile TCS New York City Marathon Sunday, Nov. 5. Wrong-Way, Speeding Driver Sends Police Car Into Philadelphia Corner Store
A Philadelphia police officer was hospitalized after a speeding, wrong-way driver struck his car and pushed it into the entrance of a corner store Saturday, Nov. 4, authorities said. Man Dies In Union County Fire
A man was killed in a Union County fire Friday, Nov. 3. Flames broke out at a home on the 100 block of North Avenue in Garwood around 4:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, local police said. Multiple 911 callers said the first floor of the structure was fully engulfed. Garwood firefighters and others from surrounding jurisdictions responded, and neighbors said a victim may be inside, Garwood police said. Firefighters found a male victim on the first floor apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
