Westport's Block Resigns From Board Of Education WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport Board of Education member Paul Block has resigned his position due to becoming the CEO of a new company, according to the Westport News. The announcement was made at the Jan. 5 meeting, the Westport News said. Westport's Republican Town Committee has put out a call for interested applicants who can fill the seat immediately, reported the Westport News. While the committee plans to put a candidate forward, the final decision on Block's replacement will lie with the board itself, the Westport News reported. Students Return To Meadow Hill School In Newburgh After Bomb Threat NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Students have returned to Meadow Hill School in Newburgh after a bomb threat this morning, according to Time Warner Cable News. Officials contacted police just before 9 a.m., and the police swept the school with the Orange County K-9 unit, TWC News reported.
