Cortlandt Man Charged With Stealing $1,800 In Cosmetics From CVS
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Cortlandt Manor man is facing charges after he and an unnamed suspect were accused of taking nearly $1,800 worth of cosmetics from a CVS in Mohegan Lake, police said.
Yorktown police said Steven Strang, 33, was charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, a felony, in connection with the theft of $1,796.16 worth of merchandise from the Main Street store last year.
As of Monday, the second suspect in the CVS thefts had not been arrested, police said.
Strang voluntarily appeared at Yorktown police headquarters last week.

The nonprofit group, whose aim is to help families and individuals navigate the child welfare system, will be holding a free, informational meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at the Grace Community Church, 365 Lukes Wood Road.

Woman Charged With Identity Theft In Jefferson Mall Incident
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A Connecticut woman, arrested on drug charges in March, now faces charges of identification theft, according to Yorktown police.
Tyana A. Mason, 20, of Waterbury, was originally arrested in March by police who had been called to the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall to investigate a possible fraud in progress.
Police said that Mason had tried to lease a large, flat screen television set using the ID of someone from Alabama.
That person, as it turns out, said he was unaware that his ID was being used.

Former Stamford Bookkeeper Charged With Embezzlement
STAMFORD, CONN. -- A former bookkeeper who police said admitted taking thousands of dollars from a city company now faces larceny and other charges, according to The Stamford Advocate.
Jenna DiNapoli, 30, was working for the Asbury Moulding and Millwork Company when the alleged embezzlement of nearly $70,000 occurred, The Stamford Advocate reported.
According to an arrest affidavit, DiNapoli took responsibility for the thefts and expressed remorse, but claimed she had a psychological problem that had made her commit them, The Stamford Advocate story said.
