Oakland Recreation Offers Coaching Clinic
OAKLAND, N.J. -- A clinic is offered Friday, April 15 for residents looking to volunteer as a coach in Oakland.Oakland Recreation is hosting a Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Elmwood Park Soap Box Derby Rescheduled
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- The soap box derby sponsored by the Elmwood Park Centennial Committee is rescheduled from its original April 16 date.A new date has yet to be announced. The race is open to anyone 7 and older. Check in is at 10 a.m. and the race begins at 11 a.m. at 16th Avenue. Participants must wear a helmut and appropriate clothing. Fee is $10. LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – The Ramapo College Foundation honored Little Ferry resident and developer Donald Nuckel at the Rockleigh Country Club for his efforts in bringing an innovative educational program to the Little Ferry school district. As part of the Nuckel Family's Better Education Starts Today (BEST) initiative, Nuckel provided over $150,000 to Little Ferry schools to start a new Science Technology, Engineering Mathematics (STEM) program for all Pre-K-8 students. FORT LEE, N.J. -- Tickets are on sale for a casino night fundraiser June 11 sponsored by the Fort Lee High School Booster Club.Cost is $65 per person and includes buffet dinner, music and a $25 gambling chip.
