Two arrests made in the village particularly stood out, said Osborn in his post, “The Chief’s Corner.” The first involved a man who, police said, went on an unprovoked rampage at a local church, beating an elderly employee and destroying a stained-glass window and other precious objects in its sanctuary. Police said the fire appears to have started in a bedroom closet in an apartment on Jefferson Avenue. The fire was contained to the closet area, police said. According to a post on the Yonkers Animal Shelter’s Facebook page, the pup was found near Bruce and Lawrence streets. Suffern Police Pick Up Lost Pooch SUFFERN, N.Y. – It seems Suffern police have a soft spot for lost pooches. A little brown and white dog was picked up after it was found wandering around Oakdale Manor on Monday. Officers took the dog to the Hi Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona where it will – hopefully – be reunited with its owners.
