Born in Italy, Beniamini came to the United States in 1959, living in Paterson before settling in Elmwood Park. Hasbrouck Heights Gets State Funds For Streetscape Work HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- The New Jersey Department of Transportation has provided over $100,000 to Hasbrouck Heights, for it to continue its Boulevard Streetscape project, NorthJersey.com has reported. The Borough faced stiff competition, getting the $116,590. There were 641 applications to the NJDOT, seeking over $250 million -- though only $79 million was available from the Transportation Trust Fund, NorthJersey.com reported. The North Bergen budget will now be reviewed by the Board of Commissioners, which can either approve it or make cuts, and the school board could then appeal that ruling at a state level, The Record reported.
