Nancy Beniamini, 95, Elmwood Park Resident ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Nancy (Lauretta) Beniamini, of Elmwood Park, died on Thursday, April 21. She was 95. Born in Italy, Beniamini came to the United States in 1959, living in Paterson before settling in Elmwood Park. She is survived by her son, Gino and his wife AnnaMaria; grandchildren Nancy Francese and her husband Jason, and Gianfranco Beniamini and his wife Nicole; great-grandchildren Emily, Luca and Alessia; brother Salvatore; sisters-in-law Pina, Biagia and Gina; and many nieces and nephews. Hasbrouck Heights Gets State Funds For Streetscape Work HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- The New Jersey Department of Transportation has provided over $100,000 to Hasbrouck Heights, for it to continue its Boulevard Streetscape project, NorthJersey.com has reported. The Borough faced stiff competition, getting the $116,590. There were 641 applications to the NJDOT, seeking over $250 million -- though only $79 million was available from the Transportation Trust Fund, NorthJersey.com reported. She was 68. She is survived by her sons, Robert and Donald; daughters-in-law Susanne and Staci; grandchildren Ashley and Breyanna; siblings Frank Gallo, Eleanor La Rossa and Rose Bertani; and many nieces, nephews and great friends. Fairview Approves School Budget, North Bergen And Palisades Park Say No CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. — While Fairview voters approved their school budget proposal, those in North Bergen and Palisades Park rejected theirs, according to The Record. The North Bergen budget will now be reviewed by the Board of Commissioners, which can either approve it or make cuts, and the school board could then appeal that ruling at a state level, The Record reported. Teaneck In Negotiations With Holy Name Medical Center TEANECK, N.J. -- The tax wrangling continues between Teaneck and Holy Name Medical Center, and the township has now formed a subcommittee to meet with Holy Name representatives, according to the Teaneck Suburbanite.The Teaneck Council had recently voted to file a reverse tax appeal against the hospital, but the township is now working to see about negotiating a deal instead, the Teaneck Suburbanite reports. Signup For Rutherford Day Camp Begins April 25 RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Registration for the Rutherford Recreation Department's day camp will begin on Monday, April 25, and run through May 27. A $20 late fee kicks in after the 27th.The day camp is from June 29 through August 7. It's open to Rutherford kids from 3 years old through eighth grade.
