Rutherford Students To Shadow Government Officials
RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rutherford high-school students will be shadowing local government officials, to learn about the varied roles of local government on Monday, April 25.
Selected students will pair up with officials and follow them during the afternoon, learning about their daily functions.
Officials taking part in the event include the mayor, Public Works superintendent, council members, library director, tax collector, police chief and health officer, among others.

Professor, Formerly of Old Tappan, Receives Service Award
OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- Former Old Tappan resident, Professor Jeffrey Alstete, received the Pro Operis Award from Iona College on April 20.
The award is for 20 years of dedicated commitment to American Catholic Higher Education in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers. Alstete -- a tenured full professor of management and business administration -- has won prior awards for teaching and research.
