First Aid Squad Serving Bloomingdale Seeks New Members BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. -- The Tri-Boro First Aid Squad -- which serves Butler, Bloomingdale and Kinnelon -- is seeking new members, and no medical background is necessary. Volunteers start as probationary members and ride with two full members, who serve as mentors. The squad also provides continuing education on a monthly basis. A wide range of members are welcome, from teens to retirees. The first-aid squad responds to about 1,500 emergency calls a year, and its members come from a wide variety of backgrounds. "We sincerely appreciate all of you who have participated in our event for the past 15 years," event organizers noted in a Wednesday, April 6, Facebook post. "If circumstances change, we will reschedule later on in the season." Those who preregistered will receive refunds.
