Wrong Way DUI Perth Amboy Driver Involved In Crash That Killed Cyclist: Police A 20-year-old Perth Amboy driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the death of a 71-year-old Kenilworth cyclist in Westfield on Monday, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 9:54 a.m., Anthony Velazquez was driving a 2016 Acura IDX east on West North Avenue when he entered the opposite lane of travel and crashed into a 2022 Ford Transit van traveling west, Westfield police said. Sheldon Ward was apprehended by the United States Marshals Task Force, the Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office said, for the Monday, July 28 murder of Kendell Roseborough, 28. Dump Truck Hauling Asphalt Crashes Into Home: Howell PD Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that culminated in a dump truck crashing into a home in Howell on Monday morning, Aug. 4, authorities said. At 9:05 a.m., the crash occurred at Lakewood Farmingdale Road (Route 547) north of Oak Glen Road, Howell Township police said. At 11:09 p.m., officers responded to a car crash after a white 2008 Mazda was traveling east on Mullica Hill Road and crossed over the center line into a 2005 Toyota that was traveling westbound, Glassboro police said. 86-Year-Old Maplewood Man Killed After Hit By Truck On Route 78: Njsp An 86-year-old Maplewood man was killed after he was hit by a truck on Route 78 in Union County, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 4. On Thursday, July 31, at 11:57 a.m., troopers responded to Route 78 East in Union Township after Welton Johnson entered the roadway and was struck by a Freightliner tractor trailer, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said. Funeral arrangements have not been publicly released.

Reckless Rockaway DWI Driver Busted After Crash: Denville PD A 24-year-old Rockaway Township man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Denville, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 4, authorities said. On Saturday, Aug. 2 at 10:26 p.m., officers responded to a crash on Old Beach Glen Road and determined the driver, Henilkumar Patel, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, Denville police said. Patel is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and careless driving, police said. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
