The highly-anticipated weekend storm is under way in the mid-Atlantic. But according to the National Weather Service, the worst is yet to come. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. from the Baltimore/Washington DC National Weather Service, who warned of slippery and dangerous road conditions through the evening. New Jersey's Last-Standing Sears Store Says It's Closing
And then there were none. New Jersey's last-standing Sears store, located in Jersey City, appears to be closing. The store at Newport Centre announced a store closing sale on Friday evening, Jan. 5 on Facebook. A voice answering service said the store was closed when Daily Voice called Friday at 7 p.m. Daily Voice has reached out to the Simon Property Group, who owns Newport Centre, and Sears corporate for comment. Edison Bus Driver Left Disabled Woman Overnight In Van: Prosecutor
A 53-year-old bus driver from Edison has been charged with neglect after authorities said she left a disabled woman in a van overnight. Winnie Raini has been suspended from her job with Inspiring NJ Transportation LLC following the incident on Jan. 2, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Poilce Chief Thomas Bryan said. Unlicensed Driver Leads 'Bucket List' Pursuit Through Stafford: Police
A 30-year-old woman who said she led a police pursuit because it was on her "bucket list" in life is feeling the consequences of her own actions, authorities in Stafford said. Stafford County Sheriff's Deputy G.P. McCaulley was at a red light on Richmind Highway, when he noticed a vehicle driven by Tandya Lee reaching speeds up to 77 mph in a 55 mph zone, as soon as the light turned green around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Jesse McFall Jr. of Fredericksburg died on Saturday, Dec. 30, according to his obituary. He was 30 years old. Jesse's obit on the Covenant Funeral Service website said he was a proud Momma's boy who cherished his wife, Olivia, and family, including his dogs. Man Shakes 'Caustic Substance' On Woman's Clothing During Argument In Prince William: Police
A 41-year-old man is facing charges after police say he tried assaulting a woman with a caustic substance during an argument in Prince William County. Mohamed Koroma was arguing with the 64-year-old woman on the 16200 block of Taconic Circle in Dumfries Thursday, Jan. 4 around 1 p.m., when he shook a can of cleaning powder toward her, Prince William County police said. The substance got on the victim’s clothing and no injuries were reported. Koroma fled the scene before officers arrived, an arrest warrant for him was issued, authorities said.
