White Plains Firefighter Sentenced In Fatal Wrong-Way Crash
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains firefighter Erik Refvik was sentenced Friday to 5 to 15 years in state prison following an accident that killed a newspaper delivery woman and injured her ex-husband in a horrific head-on crash, Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced.
Refvik, 34, was drunk, high, and going 65 mph last Nov. 3 when he drove his Chevrolet Tahoe the wrong way down South Lexington Avenue in White Plains and slammed into a Honda Civic being driven by Edgar Lopez, who was stopped at a light, according to DiFiore.

Bridgeport's St. Vincent's Says Partnership Will Lower Costs, Enhance Care
BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- St. Vincent’s Medical Center, a 397-bed acute care Catholic hospital in Bridgeport, is entering into a “unique” collaboration it says will help make health care more accessible and affordable.
A member of the seven-hospital Value Care Alliance, or VCA, St. Vincent’s announced recently that, beginning Jan. 1, 2016, it will be part of a new co-branded health insurance plan offered by Aetna under the insurer's accountable care organization (ACO) agreements with the alliance and Hartford HealthCare.

Bronxville School Foundation Introduces New Board Members, Officers
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Bronxville School Foundation is starting the school year with six new board members and a slate of new and returning officers.
Now in its 25th year, the foundation uses the money it raises -- through donations from the community, alumni, corporations, and others -- to fund grants for school equipment, programs, curriculum innovations, and teacher training and tools.
The non-profit organization says it has made more than $7.5 million in grants to Bronxville schools.

Colin Campbell, Of Mount Kisco, Painting Contractor, Dies
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Colin Campbell, of Mount Kisco, died at his home Saturday, Sept. 19.
Born in Dumbarton, Scotland, Campbell completed trade school, an apprenticeship and British military service, before marrying and coming to the United States in 1960.
He was a painting and decorating contractor and loved spending time and traveling with his family and friends.
Through his civic service and friendship, he helped many in his community.
