Teaneck's BOE Approves Preliminary $94 Million Budget
TEANECK, N.J. -- The Teaneck Board of Education voted 7-1 to approve the district's $94 million preliminary budget on Wednesday, March 16, the Teaneck Suburbanite reported. Trustee Victoria Fisher was the lone holdout, and Trustee Howard Rose was absent.The board will vote on its adoption after a public hearing, on Wednesday, May 4, as reported by the Teaneck Suburbanite. If the board adopts it, it will then go to the Bergen County superintendent for consideration.

Glen Rock Arboretum Sets Kickoff Fundraiser, Aims For $40K
GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- The Friends of the Glen Rock Arboretum have already raised more than $85,000, but intensive fundraising is still needed, and the group is having a Thielke Arboretum 2016 Kickoff Event on Thursday, April 7.
As reported in the Daily Voice in February, the Glen Rock Council voted down a $238,000 bridge loan that would have helped fund the Thielke Arboretum Education Center. FOGRAS estimates that an estimated $150,000 is still needed.

Fort Lee Organizes Senior Dinner Dance
FORT LEE, N.J. -- Please join the Richard A. Nest Senior Citizens Center for an elegant dinner dance, on Sunday, April 17.The event includes a fully-catered meal and live music from Peter Lieberman, with music from the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s -- including rock, pop and line dancing. There will also be a talent review after dinner.

NORWALK, Conn. -- The latest installment of one of cinema's legendary franchises, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," opens for the first time in Connecticut in 70mm IMAX at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, on Friday, March 25.
The aquarium hosts Connecticut’s largest IMAX theater, with its six-stories-high screen. J.J. Abrams, director of "The Force Awakens," shot key sequences of the movie using IMAX cameras, which are the world's highest-resolution.
