Mount Vernon Clears Dangerous Chemicals From Department Of Public Works MOUNT VERNON - Barrels of potentially dangerous chemicals found at a Department of Public Works facility in Mount Vernon were removed yesterday, according to News 12. Officers from New York State Environmental Conservation Department arrived at the facility on Canal Street with gloves and respirators to get rid of the barrels, according to News 12.
