Gardening Program Blooms At Beekman Library
BEEKMAN, N.Y. — A youth gardening program leads the list of events at the Beekman Library throughout May.
The Roots, Petals, and Wings Gardening Program will take place on Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. The program is designed for 5 to 12-year-olds, helping kids get started on the world of gardening.
May's Knit Wits meeting will be on Thursday, May 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and registration is required.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Douglas F. Coppola, of New Rochelle, died on Friday, April 29. He was 58.
Coppola was born on June 7, 1957, to Emilio and Camille Coppola.
He worked as a self-employed photographer.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann (Cox), sister Pamela Della Donna and her husband, Sam, brother Emilio and his wife, Melanie, brother Paul and his wife Antonella, brother Eric and his wife June, and Michael, and in-laws Richard and Janet Cox, Joyce and Al Nielsen and Rosemarie Consolo.

William P. Carpenter, 80, Of Ossining
OSSINING, N.Y. — William P. Carpenter, a lifelong resident of Ossining, died on Saturday, April 30. He was 80.
Carpenter was born on May 22, 1935, to Allan and Helen (Yoe) Carpenter.
He was a self-employed roofer, sheet metal worker and carpenter.
He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by wife, Betty, three daughters, Karen Lifieri, Dawn Hernandez and Brenda Ryan, three stepchildren, Ellis Marino, Anthony Marino and Lynann Marino, brother Philip, sister Elizabeth Thompson, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
