State Budget Allocates Money For Thruway, Tappan Zee Bridge The new state budget has earmarked $700 million of its $147 billion total for the state Thruway Authority, according to lohud.com. Most of the money is expected to go toward improvements for the Tappan Zee Bridge, lohud.com said. According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office, the third increase in funding over the last four years will push off a Thruway toll increase until at least 2020, reported lohud.com.
