Wilton School Board Approves $81 Million Budget WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton Board of Education approved Superintendent Kevin Smith's proposed $81 million budget for the 2016-17 school year during a Thursday night meeting, according to the Wilton Bulletin. The final budget number of $80.97 million is an increase of 1.27 percent from the current budget, and a shade under Smith's proposed $81.1 million budget, the Wilton Bulletin said. Revisions were made after the Wilton Energy Commission shaved about $130,000 off its original estimate, reported the Wilton Bulletin. Boslet was born in New York to Yetta Pelzel Gersh Messina and Abraham Gersh, attending Brooklyn College and Columbia University. She worked as a social worker for American Foster Care in San Francisco and for the Stamford schools. Boslet was predeceased by her parents; two husbands, Harold Bernstein and Vincent Boslet; and brother David Gersh. Stamford Police Investigate Woman's Deadly Fall STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford police are investigating the death of a woman who fell off the roof of a Bedford Street apartment building on Thursday night, according to the Stamford Advocate. Officers discovered the woman on the ground outside the complex, and she died later at Stamford Hospital, the Advocate said. Police Capt. Visiting hours are from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull with a service at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael Church at Frank Street in Bridgeport. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.

Police Nab Shoplifters At Palisades Mall CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. – Clarkstown police charged two teenagers with shoplifting at Lord & Taylor in Palisades Mall on Monday night, police said. The two suspects, ages 16 and 17, were allegedly seen by the store's loss prevention department taking over $1,200 in clothing out of a dressing room, police said. Police arrested and charged them with fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said. They were issued appearance tickets and released to the custody of their parents, and will return to court in a few weeks, police said.

The department released its 2015 fact sheet Monday, categorizing all 1,039 incidents dealt with last year, the New Canaan Advertiser noted.
