Dannel Malloy and other state health officials yesterday, according to the Connecticut Mirror. Multiple plaintiffs, including two graduate students from Yale and a Liberian family, are charging that the policy set by the state was unconstitutional, as none of the plaintiffs exhibited any signs of Ebola contact before being quarantined for 21 days at their homes with police guard, the Connecticut Mirror said. Robert Moore, 75, Of Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. – Robert Preston Moore of Norwalk died Saturday, Feb. 6. He was 75. Moore was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Olean, N.Y., to Dr. Ellis and Catherine Moore. He graduated from the University of Virginia. After serving in Alaska in the Army during the Vietnam War, he went on to work as a flight instructor in Florida before working as a corporate pilot in White Plains and an airline pilot for Transavia Holland Airlines. Neighborhood Business Zone Proposed In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A new plan to create a neighborhood business zone near the intersection of routes 7 and 35 in Ridgefield is being proposed, according to the Ridgefield Press. The proposed retail zone would cover six properties and five acres, the Ridgefield Press said. A similar, much larger proposal covering 35 properties and 57 acres was opposed by retailers and residents alike and finally thrown out by a judge last March, reported the Ridgefield Press. Stratford Native Named Company Commander For Spring At Coast Guard Academy STRATFORD, Conn. – A Stratford native has been selected as a company commander for her last semester at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, according to the Stratford Star. First Class Cadet Jacquelyn Kubicko will be the Golf company commander this spring, one of eight company commanders on campus, the Star said. William Sebestyen Sr., 95, Of Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. – William Alexander Sebestyen, Sr., a lifelong resident of Fairfield, died on Jan. 30 at his home. He was 95. Sebestyen graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1938, going on to serve as an Army master sergeant during World War II. Stratford Woman Charged With Selling Stolen Jewelry STRATFORD, Conn. – A 56-year-old woman from Stratford was arrested on charges in a scheme to sell stolen jewelry, according to the Stratford Star.   Tanya Abdur-Raheem was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with precious metal violation and fifth-degree larceny, the Star said. A burglary suspect sold stolen jewelry to Abdur-Raheem, who was not using a required precious metal license and was then selling the jewelry to a pawn shop in Bridgeport.
