Saddle Brook Scouts Prep For Pinewood Derby
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — A pinewood derby will take off Saturday, Jan. 30 at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook. The annual Scouting event with Saddle Brook Cub Scout Pack 222 starts at 10 a.m. and finishes around 4 p.m. It takes place in the school auditorium at the church. Be A Model For The Elmwood Park Fashion Show
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. — Models are needed for the Elmwood Park Centennial Fashion Show April 12. Men, women and children of all sizes are needed. Entrants' names will be placed in a drawing and chosen according to size and gender. Clothing is also needed for a segment of the show called “Through the Years.” Wanted are Elmwood Park High School varsity jackets, cheerleading uniforms or jackets and football and scouting uniforms. Changes In Affordable Housing Laws Force Rutherford To Revise Plans
RUTHERFORD, N.J. — State affordable housing mandates are being revised and Rutherford submitted a plan earlier last month stating its obligation is already met, reports northjersey.com. Municipalities were required to file plans for providing for low- and moderate-income housing under the Fair Housing Act. by Dec. 8 in order to seek relief from Builder's Remedy lawsuits, according to northjersey.com. MOONACHIE, N.J. — Liquidation is the likely fate of retailer Joyce Leslie, headquartered in Moonachie, reports NJ Biz. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in federal court in White Plains, N.Y. following failed negotiations with creditors in 2014 and an unsuccessful run with another new chief executive officer, according to NJ Biz. One DWI Among 10 Accidents Ramapo Police Investigated Wednesday
RAMAPO, N.Y. — Seven arrests and 10 car accidents were among the 144 calls Ramapo police responded to on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Ramapo police officers responded to a report of two accidents in the area of 267 North Main St. and West Eckerson Road. A man from Monsey, 31, was charged with driving while intoxicated when the responding officer’s investigation found he exited the parking lot onto West Eckerson Road and struck an oncoming vehicle.
