Saddle Brook High School Athlete Commits To Kean For Softball
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — A letter of intent to play softball at Kean University next spring recently was signed by Saddle Brook High School senior Taryn DiGiacomo.A pitcher and outfielder for the Saddle Brook Falcons, last year DiGiacomo appeared in more than 20 games on the mound while the team went 17-11. The senior also honed her skills playing for a club team in Cedar Grove during the summer. In a recruitment video, DiGiacomo said her best skill is her speed. POMPTON LAKES, N.J. — A new year-end tradition was started in December by the Pompton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department for its changing of the guard. Member Tim Scott, an outgoing captain for Co. 51, suggested the firefighters come together for something special. To Keep Tappan Zee Discount
Drivers traveling across the Tappan Zee Bridge using a New Jersey E-ZPass will now have to get one from New York if they want to keep their discounts, reports lohud.com. Anyone who continues to use a New Jersey E-ZPass after the end of the billing cycle next month will pay the standard Tappan Zee E-ZPass toll of $4.75 per trip instead of the discounted $3, said lohud.com. Leonia Groups Will Collect Warm Clothing At The Library
LEONIA, N.J. -- Donations of warm winter weather clothing are being collected for needy adult men and women in the area. The Community of Friends in Action and Rotary of the Palisades is asking for donations of coats, jackets, hats, gloves, scarves and warm sweaters.
