Pompton Lakes Residents Seek DuPont-Cancer Connection Answers
POMPTON LAKES, N.J. — Residents and officials are at odds about what caused the high rate of cancer and other illnesses in the DuPont neighborhood where regular explosions took place in earlier decades, NJ Spotlight reported. Officials said the area had more than the above average number of cancer cases, but not enough to be statistically significant, according to NJ Spotlight. FAIRVIEW, N.J. — Rose Grace Basile (nee Mandrachia) of Fairview died Tuesday, Dec. 15. She was 87. She worked as a secretary at the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in Paramus. She spent her free time crafting. She is survived by her son Paul Basile, his wife Vicki; son David Basile, his wife Diane; sister Judith Monforte; granddaughter Kristen West and her husband Dorian; grandson John Basile; granddaughter Allison Basile; great great grandchild Adrian West. She was predeceased by her brother Larry Mandrachia.

Sex Assault Charges Increased Against Franklin Lakes Therapist
FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Additional patients who authorities said came forward following the arrest of a special education consultant from Franklin Lakes have increased the number of sexual assault charges against him. A Sussex County judge boosted bail to $550,000 for 31-year-old Troy R. Leonard after prosecutors charged him with two additional counts of sexual assault and child endangerment, along with one of health care claims fraud. A lawyer for Leonard, who was arrested on Nov. 13, entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf to all of the charges during a brief court appearance on Thursday.…
