End of Life Care Explored At Sarah Lawrence Workshop
YONKERS, N.Y. — Sarah Lawrence College is offering a half-day workshop for anyone interested in knowing more about the myriad issues related to end of life care. “Narrating the End of Life: Narrative Practice, Historical Context and Critical Skills to Improve End of Life Care” takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Sarah Lawrence College. Two Face Charges After Stop On Route 22 In Amenia
AMENIA, N. Y. – Edgard Digirolamo, 33, of Gaylordsville, Conn. was charged Oct. 22 with driving while impaired by drugs and possession of a controlled substance, police said. New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks initially pulled Digirolamo over on State Route 22 for failing to utilize a directional signal. Police said he was found to under the influence of drugs and in possession of crack cocaine. Police Charge Straford Men, Seize $1.5 Million In Drugs
STRAFORD, Conn. — Jafet Acevedo, 21, and Arturo Perez, 22, both of Stratford, Conn., were arrested Oct. 27 on charges of possessing an estimated $1.5 million worth of drugs following a vehicle stop near the Mills at Jersey Gardens shopping mall in Elizabeth, N.J., nj.com reports. Aside from searching the 2004 Toyota Sienna, officers also searched the suspects' homes and seized $1.5 million street value in heroin and methamphetamine, and $40,000 in cash, the article says. O'Donoghue's In Nyack Will Reopen Under New Ownership
NYACK, N.Y. – O'Donoghue's, the popular watering hole and eatery, is reopening under new ownership, lohud.com reports. Kevin O'Donoghue still owns the building that once was home to his family restaurant that closed in April. Westport Drivers Warned Of Overnight Construction Planned For Downtown
WESTPORT, Conn. — Concrete pouring will take place during the overnight hours on Nov. 4, ending at 5 a.m., in Westport’s downtown area. The town of Westport approved the early morning construction at Bedford Square to minimize traffic congestion. Church Lane — from its intersection at Elm Street to Post Road East — will be closed for the work. General vehicular traffic will be detoured via Elm Street. Postal Worker From Fishkill Charged With Groping Fellow Employee
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. — Nicholas A. Morris, 48, was arrested and charged with forcible touching, police said. Morris, of Fishkill, allegedly subjected a fellow postal employee to unwanted sexual contact while inside the postal facility. According to New York State Police at SP Wurtsboro, the victim reported that Morris shoved her against a wall, bruising her arm and fondling her sexually, without her consent. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

Bridgeport's Family Justice Center Targets Men For Talk To End Violence
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport, as part of its ongoing efforts to engage men and boys in the effort to break the cycle of domestic and sexual violence, is hosting a lecture by internationally acclaimed author/activist Tony Porter. Porter’s lecture is considered appropriate for college students as well as teenagers in middle and high school and they are encouraged to attend with their parents. RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. — The Ridgefield Parks Girls Basketball Team is having a fall leaf rake fundraiser. For anyone who provides leaf bags, the team will fill them. The event takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 in Ridgefield Park and Little Ferry. The rain date is Sunday, Nov. 22. The minimum cost is $40 per lawn. The yard size and amount of leaves should be taken into consideration and the team will trust the homeowner's discretion based on number of workers and hours of labor. Accused Nyack College Coach Invited Porn Star To Practice, Lawsuit Says
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A lawsuit filed against Kurt Ludwigsen, a softball coach at Nyack College, says he tried to turn his players into porn stars and even brought in adult film actress Allie Haze to offer girls life counseling sessions, nypost.com reports. He also tried to entice his players to go into the adult entertainment industry, the article says, and stuck his tongue in a player’s ear as punishment for losing a game.
