Teterboro's Aviation Hall Of Fame Salutes Veterans
TETERBORO, N.J. – A Regional Salute to Veterans takes place on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of NJ, 400 Fred Wehran Drive, Teterboro Airport. The brief regional ceremony will be held at the museum to honor Veterans. Everyone is welcome, especially Veterans, active duty, emergency services personnel, Scouts and family. From 5:30-6:30 p.m. parents and children took part in various fitness activities they could do together. Passaic County Sees High Participation Rate In School Breakfast Program
PATERSON, N.J. -- Thanks to a federal program that offers free breakfast in school, more children living in poverty are getting a nutritious breakfast, northjersey.com reports. According to the story, Paterson has seen a big increase in the number of families taking advantage of the program, but many districts aren’t participating or the turnout numbers are low. Passaic County has 70 percent of its low-income students getting free or reduced priced breakfast, the story said. Target Is Embroiled In Controversy Regarding In-Store Audio Porn
A California Target store is investigating how pornographic audio ended up being played over its public address system earlier this week, jezebel.com reports. A woman shopping at the Campbell, Calif. store with her two small sons snapped a video of the incident and took to Facebook to air her complaints, jezebel.com says. Explicit moaning and other sexual sounds can be heard on the video, the story said. This is the second time since July a California Target store was the target of audio porn, Jezebel says. Lodi Junior Police Academy Teaches Youth Emergency Readiness
LODI, N.J. – The Lodi Junior Police Academy recently graduated its 2015 class. Students learned first aid, how to call for help and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of choking and various illnesses. The Lodi Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Squad participated with education as the platoons were broken down into several groups. The youth observed demonstrations, as well as participated in, basic CPR skills, blood pressure and splinting. RAMSEY, N.J. — The Ramsey Rescue Squad will host its second annual beefsteak tricky tray fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 29 at The Brownstone. The event will include a full beefsteak dinner, beer and soda, tricky tray, 50/50 and a silent auction. Each guest will receive a program that includes sponsor advertising.
