Norwalk Offers Firewood To Residents At A Reduced Rate NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk residents can purchase firewood that is split and seasoned at a reduced rate.  The city currently accepts and pays to dispose of a tremendous amount of usable hardwoods. Starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, Norwalk residents can visit the city of Norwalk website and purchase a $75 firewood voucher good for 175 pieces of wood, or about a half cord. Man Faces Multiple Charges After Taconic Stop EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Timothy B. Mackey, 56, of Fishkill, was arrested Sept. 25 for allegedly being in possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. He was stopped by New York State police on Interstate 84 for allegedly speeding on the Taconic State Parkway, police said.  He was released on summonses and a court appearance.
