Pompton Lakes Awarded $625,000 To Combat Substance Abuse POMPTON LAKES -- The Borough of Pompton Lakes will receive a $625,000 grant — $125,000 annually for five years — toward efforts to combat substance abuse, northjersey.com reported. The grant was awarded by the White House Drug Policy Office to help prevent youth substance abuse. The Pompton Lakes Prevention Coalition — or the Municipal Alliance — will use the funds to fight abuse of drugs like prescription medication, marijuana, tobacco and alcohol.
