Mario J. DiMondo Sr., 88, New Rochelle Resident
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Mario J. DiMondo Sr., a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on Wednesday, Sept. 23. He was 88. He was born on July 18, 1927, to Lazzaro and Vincenza (Cestone) DiMondo. He was the owner of the Mario J. DiMondo Insurance Agency in New Rochelle for more than 50 years. He served on the New Rochelle Housing Authority, the New Rochelle Boys and Girls Club where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame and Modern Woodmen of America along with many other organizations. FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Charles Anthony "Tony" Solimine was appointed by the K-8 Board of Education in a 5-2-1 vote to fill the short-term vacancy created by the resignation of Michael Ben-David in July, northjersey.com reports. Westwood Appoints Dell To Finish Miller's Council Term
WESTWOOD, N.J. — The Westwood Borough Council voted unanimously to appoint Beth Dell to succeed Councilman Robert Miller, whose resignation was effective Sept. 2, northjersey.com reported. Dell, the vice president of a local education nonprofit, will serve the remainder of Miller's council term, which ends Dec. 31, 2016. First Alumni Day Pairs With Annual Octoberfest At Mahwah's Ramapo College
MAHWAH, N.J. – Ramapo College is hosting its first annual Alumni Day from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at 505 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah. Also taking place that day is the campus Oktoberfest Carnival and Family Day from noon to 4 p.m. at the band shell.
