Theodore Herman, 90, Of Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. – Theodore (Ted) Herman, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died on Feb. 25. He was 90.
Herman was born in Norwalk on Nov. 23, 1925 to Daniel and Bertha Herman, graduating from Norwalk High School and serving in the US Army during World War II.
After his wartime service, he graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in history and joined the Connecticut National Guard, serving for 37 years and retiring as Army Brigadier General.
As a civilian, Herman worked in purchasing and retired as Director of Procurement from Chemtex, Inc. in New York City.

Federico Alicea, 68, Of Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Federico 'Yico' Alicea, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, died on Feb. 26 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was 68.
Alicea was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico on Jan. 19, 1948 to Carmelo and Mercedes Alicea, working as a machinist after moving to Bridgeport.
He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, Casimiro, Juan, Arturo, Ismael; and sister Maria Mercedes Colon.
Alicea is survived by four brothers, Ramon Octavio, Luis, Carmelo Jr., Miguel Angel; four sisters, Francisca Acevedo, Carmen Rivera, Ines Rivera, Herminia Orellana; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives.

American Platform Tennis Association Championship Comes To Darien
DARIEN, Conn. – The country’s best platform tennis players will visit the area as part of the 81st American Platform Tennis Association National Championships, taking place March 4-6 at a variety of sites in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
While the host club for the event is the Country Club of Darien, matches also will be played in Greenwich, New Canaan, Rowayton, Wilton, Weston, Fairfield, Stamford, Easton, Ridgefield and Rye.
In total, 33 sites and facilities will be in use during the three-day doubles tournament, as 500 men and women from across the country are expected to compete.…
