Westport Weston Chamber Serves Up Annual Restaurant Week Specials
WESTON/WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Weston Restaurant Week will run from Sunday, Oct. 4, though Sunday, Oct. 18. I'ts part of the continuing “Eat Local” campaign to promote area restaurants, which began two weeks ago with the Slice of Saugatuck, the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce said. This year, the two-week Restaurant Week features 27 eateries offering prix fixe meals from one end of Westport and Saugatuck to Southport. Woman Almost Crashes Into Mamaroneck Church
MAMARONECK, N.Y. – An elderly woman crawled to safety from her backseat after nearly driving her car into St. Vito’s Church on Underhill Avenue in Mamaroneck around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, westchester.news12.com reports. The woman’s husband told the news station that his wife put the car in drive instead of reverse, drove over a ledge and crashed into a gate in front of the church. westchester.news12.com reports the woman wasn’t seriously injured. HASTINGS, N.Y. – Motorists are advised that the southbound direction of Warburton Avenue over Cropsey Lane from Washington Avenue to Main Street in Hastings-on-Hudson will be closed daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 through Wednesday, Oct. 7. ARMONK, N.Y. -- Additional changes to the age-restricted senior housing planned on Route 128 in Armonk, were presented by developer Frank Madonna at the North Castle Planning Board meeting last week. Madonna’s latest proposal is one large building that eliminates the multi-building option and reduces the single structure to 15,000 square feet. NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- New Milford will celebrate its annual Halloweenie from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at Fresh & Fancy 575 River Road, New Milford. Daffodil Garden Will Memorialize Waldwick Resident
WALDWICK, N.J. -- A Daffodil garden is being established in memory of Kerry Sauner, a Waldwick resident who lost her battle to a rare sarcoma in May, leaving behind a husband and two sons. The garden will be at the top of the bike path in Waldwick’s Borough Park, on either side of the cupola from the town’s old municipal building. Daffodils were chosen because they are perennial and deer resistant. Other perennial grasses and plants will be included in the garden area.
